Klub

by Spencer Hazel (1995)

A relentless look at the importance of club culture in mid-nineties Britain.

Created in collaboration with DJ Andy Cleeton and structured like a DJ set, ‘Klub’ was a hard and violent study of Generation Why, a desolate generation stumbling over notions of identity, reality and belonging. A real response to Douglas Coupland’s ‘Generation X’ and the 90’s explosion of club culture as a social phenomenon.

The show marked the company’s first collaboration with Stephen Kirkham (Adventures In Motion Pictures and The Featherstonehaughs).

Best Directed Show, Cairo International Festival, 1998
